Sunflowers are a key crop in Ukrainian agriculture. Currently, the total area of cultivated sunflower fields stands at an impressive 3.7 million hectares, highlighting the importance of sunflowers in the country’s agricultural industry.

Sunflowers hold high economic value due to their versatile applications. They serve as a primary raw material for the production of sunflower oil, widely used in the food industry. Additionally, sunflowers are used for biofuel production, animal feed additives, and other products.

Cultivating sunflowers requires specific knowledge and skills. Farmers need to consider factors such as soil preparation, variety selection, proper care, and pest control. However, the high yields and export potential make sunflowers an attractive crop for many farmers.

Ukraine is one of the leading global producers of sunflower oil, and the development of the sunflower sector holds significant importance for the country’s economy. Continuing to advance and improve sunflower cultivation methods will contribute to stable growth in the production and export of this essential crop.
