Russia: Exports of sunflower seeds doubled

According to the data obtained, in February of this year, 23,000 tons of sunflower were exported from Russia, which is 2 times higher than in January of this year and is also a record monthly figure since November 2017.

In total, during the first half of 18/19 MY, almost 80,000 tons were exported, which is 26% more than in the same period last year.

During the reporting period, 64,000 tons of sunflower were supplied to the countries of the Customs Union, which accounts for 81% of total exports, whereas for the same period last year only 35% of total exports volumes were supplied to these countries.

During this period, shipments to Kazakhstan increased by 5 times (to 23 thousand tons), supplies to Armenia increased by 8 times (to 13 thousand tons), and supplies to China also increased by 5 times (to 8 thousand tons).

Also, during the reporting period, supplies to Turkey were significantly reduced (from 21,000 tons to 232 tons).
