Ukraine: 580 thousand hectares were planted with spring crops

As of March 19, spring crops were sown on 25% of the planned territories, which amounted to 580 thousand hectares.

Such information was obtained from Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

During this period, 28 thousand hectares were sown with wheat, which is 16% of the forecast. The area under spring barley is 419 thousand hectares, which is 27% of the planned area for this crop. In addition, oats and peas were sown on an area of 15 thousand hectares and 118 thousand hectares, which is 8% and 34% оf the forecast, respectively.

This year the condition of winter crops is considered as one of the best over the last 5 years. This circumstance allows us to hope for a good harvest this season.

An active sowing campaign of spring crops has begun in Ukraine. 580,000 hectares have already been sown, which is a very good indicator. Thanks to this, productivity is growing and the export potential of the country is increasing. Spring crops are among the most demanded in world trade, so their cultivation is very important for Ukraine. At the moment, the situation on the grain market is very favorable, and Ukrainian producers can hope for good prices and large export volumes.
