Russia: Sunflower oil production decreased by more than 20% in January

According to the information received, in January of this year Russia produced 376 thousand tons of sunflower oil, which indicates a significant reduction in the production of this product. Thus, in December 2018, more than 460 thousand tons of oil was produced, which is 23% more than in January.

This information was received from the Statistics Committee.

During the period from September to January, about 2 million tons of sunflower oil were produced, which is 6% lower than during the same period last season.

In February, an increase in the prices of seeds and sunflower oil was observed on the sunflower market, which in turn, contributed to the intensification of the trading process. Forecasts for the production of this product for the current marketing season remain unchanged – at the level of 5.1 million tons.
