Ukraine: Sowing campaign began in 11 regions of Ukraine

As of 11.03.19, the sowing campaign of early spring and leguminous crops in Ukraine began in 11 regions. As of this date, 160 thousand hectares were sown, which is 7% of the predicted territories. According to forecasts, 7.2 million hectares will be planted this year.

During the indicated period, 103.000 hectares of spring barley were sown, which is 7% of the total area under barley. Also, 6 thousand hectares of wheat were sown, which is 3% of the forecast amount and 48 thousand hectares of peas, which equals 14% of the total area allotted for peas.

Moreover, fertilizing of winter crops continues. Thus, as of the reporting date, 5 million hectares were processed, which is 65% of the total area.
