Ukraine: During the period from September to December, a record amount of sunflower was processed

According to information from analysts, during the period from September to December of the current MY, the processing volumes of sunflower seeds reached about 5.5 million tons, which exceeds last year’s figures by 9% and is a historical maximum for the reporting period.

The increase in the processing volumes of the abovementioned crop is due to the high demand for this product from importers. In this regard, we also observed an increase in exports of sunflower oil to 2 million tons, which is 13% higher than the previous season.

The largest amount of the product was imported by countries such as India (the share of exports to this country was 37%), China (the share of exports was 13%) and Iraq (with an export share of 7%). Also, sunflower oil was supplied to Italy, Spain, France, Egypt, Iran and the UK.

During the period from September to December 2022, a record amount of sunflower was processed in Ukraine, which gave a record harvest this year. Due to the high yield and good quality of raw materials, Ukrainian producers were able to increase the production of sunflower oil and export it to other countries. In addition, this industry is an important source of income for many agricultural enterprises in Ukraine. The record harvest and sunflower processing indicate that Ukrainian agriculture continues to develop and flourish.
