Ukraine: Export of peas in October increased by 3 times

Since the beginning of October to the 20th of October, 120.000 t of peas were supplied from Ukraine to foreign markets, which is 3 times more than was shipped in September. During September, 38.000 t were exported. In comparison with the previous year, the export of peas increased by 1.7 times.

Since the beginning of the current MY and until October 20, 284.000 t were exported from Ukraine, which is only 1 thousand tons less than last year.

The main importing country of Ukrainian peas is Spain. The amount shipped to this country was 147.000 t, which is 52% of the total export volume.

In addition, the top three importers of peas include Yemen and Germany. To these countries 22.000 t and 19.000 t were shipped, respectively.

Analysts estimate the peas harvest in the current MY at the level of 795.000 t, of which about 510.000 t will be exported. Consequently, more than 50% of the total volume of peas has been shipped for export.

It should be recalled that in the past MY export of peas broke all records and amounted to 873.500 t, which exceeds the figure of 16/17 MY by 80%.
