Kazakhstan: To improve the performance of the agro-industrial complex, it is planned to install DTN weather stations

As part of the implementation of the precision farming program, an agreement was signed with the American company DTN on cooperation in the field of weather forecasting. The installation of such equipment will significantly improve productivity in the agro-industrial sector.

Meteorological stations DTN for farmers are a fully autonomous online service with a radius of 5 km, which is about 8000 ha. This system collects and transmits information about weather conditions, namely the force and direction of wind, rainfall, soil and air temperature, humidity and so on. Using this system will allow to forecast the weather locally, with an error of 10-15%.

Also, thanks to the information received from this device, farmers can plan the timing of fertilizer application, as well as the time of sowing and harvesting and many other operations in the fields.

To cover the entire acreage in Kazakhstan, it will take about 3 thousand of such stations.

An equally critical aspect for the agro-industrial sector is the analysis of grain quality. Implementing advanced quality control measures, such as testing for moisture content, protein levels, and the presence of impurities, is essential to meet both domestic and international market standards. High-quality grain ensures better market competitiveness and higher export potential, especially in regions with stringent requirements like Europe and Asia. Integrating quality analysis with DTN weather data will enable farmers to optimize harvesting and storage conditions, reducing losses and enhancing the overall value of the crop.
