Kazakhstan: Grain harvesting in Kostanay comes to an end
As of October 3, more than 4.000.000 tons of grain were already harvested in the Kostanay region, while the planned amount was 5.000.000 tons.
According to information from the agricultural department, 4.4 million tons of grain was collected in the region. The average yield was 1.13 tons per hectare, which is slightly lower than last year.
It should be added that in the current year the start of the harvesting campaign was strongly delayed, because the weather conditions did not allow to start harvesting.
The harvesting involved 9.6 combines, 23 thousand tractors, 8 thousand units of trucks.
It should be recalled that this year the harvest is projected at the level of 5.000.000 tons. In comparison with the previous year, a decrease by 0.2 million tons is observed.
The grain harvest in Kazakhstan is coming to an end, especially in the Kostanay region. The total volume of grain harvested exceeded expectations and amounted to more than 22 million tons, which is a significant increase compared to last year. In addition, record harvests of barley and oats have been harvested in the Kostanay region, which will have a positive effect on grain exports. At the same time, against the backdrop of prolonged weather conditions and the transition to a new system of grain purchases, local farmers faced problems with the storage and sale of their crops. However, an increase in the volume of harvested grain and an improvement in the quality of the crop represent good prospects for grain exports from Kazakhstan in the near future.
As the harvesting campaign in Kostanay region is completed, farmers face the next critical stage — grain drying. Given the changeable weather conditions and high humidity at the time of harvesting, fast and high-quality drying becomes the key to preserving the harvest and stability of its indicators.
Using modern grain dryers, such as Perry equipment, allows you to effectively reduce grain moisture to optimal values, minimize the risk of spoilage, prevent self-heating and prepare the product for long-term storage or sale.
Timely and technologically competent drying is the key to maintaining quality and increasing profits from the harvested crop, especially in regions with large volumes of grain, such as Kostanay.
