Ukraine: During the first two months of the new MY, the export of flour-milling products from Ukraine decreased by 58%
During the period from July to August of a new MY, a little less than 31 thousand tons of flour were supplied to foreign markets from Ukraine, which is 58% less than it was supplied last season.
Such information was provided by UkrAgroConsult.
The first two months of the current MY were marked by a decrease in export volumes of these products. Thus, the export figures for August are 18.5% lower than those for Jul, and 65.5% lower than those for August last year.
In addition, in the country there is also a slowdown in the production of milling products. During the period from January to August 2018, 1.07 million tons of flour were produced in the country, which is 11.2% less than it was produced last year.
During this period, Moldova, China, the United Arab Emirates and others became the main buyers of Ukrainian flour.
With the beginning of the new Marketing Year, the export of flour products from Ukraine decreased by 58%. What caused such a sharp drop and how will it affect the industry?
One of the main reasons for this decline may be the change in the world market conditions, as well as an increase in the production of flour products in other countries. In addition, many flour producers face the problem of a lack of skilled workers, which can also negatively affect exports.
Despite this, experts predict that in the future the demand for flour products will grow. Therefore, manufacturers must actively seek new markets and improve the quality of their products.
