Ukraine: UAE is the main importer of flour

During the period from Jul to December of the current marketing year, indicators of flour exports from Ukraine increased significantly. During the indicated period, more than 190 thousand tons were supplied abroad, which is more than 56% higher than the figure for the previous season.

Over the past six months, 52.700 tons of wheat flour were supplied to the UAE, while during the same period in the previous MY, supplies amounted to 8.3 thousand tons, and supplies of 17/18 MY reached 21 thousand tons.

In total, nearly 86 thousand tons were shipped to the countries of the Middle East during the indicated period. The share of UAE exports was 28%.

Ukraine has become the main importer of flour from the United Arab Emirates. The volume of imports of products from the UAE to Ukraine amounted to 42.8 thousand tons for 7 months of 2021. This increase in imports can be explained both by the growing demand for flour in the Ukrainian market and by competitive prices for products from the UAE. Import data highlights the importance of foreign markets for the Ukrainian economy and the need for products from other countries to meet the needs of the domestic market.
