Upgrading of grain elevator equipment
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture has approved the distribution of funds within the framework of the program of compensation of 25% of the cost of domestic agricultural machinery and equipment: 183 million UAH will be directed to farmers who purchased domestically produced machinery in August.
According to the ministry, agricultural producers submitted 600 applications for reimbursement of the cost of 952 units of machinery and equipment for the amount of over 663.7 million UAH (including VAT). Among the purchased items are tillage machines, trailers, transportation equipment, irrigation systems and other agricultural units.
Compensation from the state will amount to 138.3 million UAH in this round. We remind you that in September the List of domestic agricultural machinery and equipment for which compensation can be received was updated – 212 new items and one manufacturer were added, now the list includes more than 14,209 items from 162 Ukrainian manufacturers.
Why is upgrading elevator equipment important
Agricultural machinery is only one front of modernization of the agricultural sector. No less important is the modernization of elevator and grain storage equipment. The website of the company PromInvestService presents a wide range of equipment for elevators – silos, conveyor systems, wagon unloaders, cleaning equipment and more.
Here are the key arguments in favor of upgrading elevator equipment:
- Reduction of grain losses: old equipment increases the risks of mechanical damage, increased humidity and mold, which leads to percentage losses during storage or transfer.
- Quality improvement: modern cleaning, drying and sorting systems allow you to keep grain in better condition – for sale, processing or export.
- Energy efficiency: new equipment models, as a rule, consume less electricity or are optimized in terms of mechanics, which saves on operation.
- Automation and control: modern systems allow you to monitor grain parameters (humidity, temperature, useful indicators) in real time, which reduces the risks of spoilage of batches.
- Competitiveness in the market: the presence of modern equipment increases the reputation of the elevator, allows you to service larger volumes, work with export partners who often require confirmation of quality and compliance with standards.
That is, state support for technology is an important step, but further investments in grain storage infrastructure are critically necessary for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
