Kazakhstan: Oilseed harvesting completed in Eastern Kazakhstan
According to the information received, as of November 30, the harvest campaign for oilseeds was completed in East Kazakhstan.
Such information was received from the local department of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The process of harvesting oilseeds in the current year is almost exactly the same as the process of the past year in terms of speed of harvesting and the duration of the harvesting campaign.
According to the information received, the average yield reached 1.3 t/ha, and more than 561 thousand tons were collected.
The highest yield was recorded for rape – 1.7 t/ha, whereas last year the yield was 1.6 t/ha.
It should be recalled that in the current year in the region 448 thousand hectares were allocated for oilseeds, whereas last year 431 thousand hectares were allocated for these crops.
Harvested grains and oilseeds typically have a moisture content of 18–35%, requiring urgent drying for long-term storage. Without additional drying, there is a risk of spoilage, mold growth, and heat build-up in storage.
