
Kazakhstan: Prices for exported wheat increased by 20%
The price of wheat exported from Kazakhstan in 2020 increased by almost 20% compared to 2019.
There was also an increase in prices for exported barley (+12.3%), wheat flour (+10.4%) and rice (+7.9%).
If we consider imports, then in 2021 there was an increase in price of the following goods:
Vegetable oil – by 56%,
Margarine – by almost 15%,
Pasta – by almost 10%,
Sugar – by 6.3%,
Dairy products – by 2.5%.
The price of poultry meat imported to Kazakhstan decreased by 2.6%.
According to the results of 2020, prices for products exported from Kazakhstan decreased by 7.7%, while those for imported products increased by 5.4%.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest grain producers in Central Asia. According to the latest data, prices for exported wheat from Kazakhstan increased by 20%. This is due to an increase in demand for grain from foreign buyers. Kazakhstan is one of the leading exporters of wheat in the world, and an increase in export prices could positively affect the country’s economy.
