Ukraine: January 2018. Export indicators of wheat flour

During the first month of the new year, 37.13 thousand tons of wheat flour was supplied from Ukraine to international markets. The sum totaled 8.36 million dollars.

Such information was provided by the State Fiscal Service.

In addition, the supply of flour from other types of crops amounted to 153 tons, and the cost of supply was 57 thousand dollars.

The main buyers of wheat flour during the reporting period were China, Great Britain and Poland. These countries imported 13.83 thousand tons (3 million dollars), 4.53 thousand tons (slightly more than 1 million dollars), and 3 thousand tons (680.000 dollars) respectively.

Flour from other crops was imported by such countries as Portugal (20.000 dollars), Moldova (12.000 dollars) and Slovenia (11.000 dollars).

It should be recalled that the forecasts for flour export this year are 450 thousand tons.

In January 2018, Ukraine increased the export of wheat flour compared to the same period last year. According to the data of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the export of wheat flour amounted to 5.5 thousand tons, which is 20% more than in January 2017.

The export of wheat flour from Ukraine continues to show growth, thanks to the active work of Ukrainian producers in foreign markets. In 2020, Ukraine ranked second in the world in the export of wheat flour, second only to Turkey. Export of wheat flour is one of the most important export items of Ukrainian agricultural products.

However, in addition to traditional partners, Ukrainian wheat flour producers are actively looking for new markets. For example, in 2018, a contract was signed for the export of Ukrainian wheat flour to China, which is an important achievement for the Ukrainian agricultural industry.

Thus, the increase in wheat flour exports in January 2018 indicates that Ukrainian producers continue to actively explore foreign markets and increase their production capacities, which positively affects the economic development of the country.
