Ukraine: In Ukraine, the production of raw vegetable oils increased

During 12 months of 2017 in Ukraine the production of crude vegetable oils reached 6.4 million tons, which is 14% higher than in the previous year.

96% of production volumes is crude sunflower oil, whose production during the 12 months of the last year increased by 14%.

Also, it should be added that the production volume of raw soybean oil also increased and in 2017 it amounted to 200 thousand tons, which is 3% of the total production of vegetable oils.

However, the production of rapeseed oil decreased by 33% compared to production in 2016 and amounted to 60 thousand tons.

Also, it should be added that the production of linseed oil increased by 16% and amounted to 7.2 thousand tons.

According to the latest data, the production of crude sunflower oil in the country over the past year increased by 5.5%, and crude soybean oil – by 6.4%. This testifies to the growth of the potential of the Ukrainian agricultural industry and the strengthening of its position in world markets.

At the same time, the increase in the production of crude oils of vegetable origin leads to an increase in their exports. Last year, Ukraine exported more than 4 million tons of oils, which is 10% more than in the previous year. More than half of exports are sunflower oil, as well as soybean oil and rapeseed oil.

Ukrainian producers of raw oils of vegetable origin continue to improve the quality of their products and improve production processes. This helps them to increase production volumes and strengthen their positions in world markets, increasing the competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural industry.
