Ukraine: During the first six months, the volume of grain transportation decreased by 12%

During the six months of this year, the amount of grain transported across the Dnipro declined by 12.5%, which is 800 thousand tons.

Such information was provided by the portal “Elevatorist”.

The total amount of cargo transported reached the level of 2.96 million tons, which exceeds the figures of the previous year by slightly more than 14%. The growth in the volume of freight traffic is mostly ensured by increased transportation of petroleum products (an increase by 20.5%), as well as construction materials (an increase by 39.6%).

It should be recalled that Ukrzaliznytsia made decisions to raise tariffs for the use of wagons in its ownership.

For the first 6 months of this year, the volume of grain transportation in Ukraine decreased by 12%. This reduction is due to restrictions on the use of trucks, which have come into force since the beginning of the year. These restrictions have led to a reduction in the transportation of grain by road, which in turn has led to a decrease in the volume of transportation.

Nevertheless, grain exports from Ukraine continue at an active level. Ukrainian exporters continue to actively supply grain to foreign markets, despite the difficulties in transportation.

Thus, regardless of restrictions on the use of trucks, Ukrainian producers continue to maintain a high level of grain exports. It should be noted that such restrictions may have a negative impact on the country’s economy as a whole, but so far the situation remains stable.
