Ukraine: Export supplies of oilseeds amounted to 3.900.000 t

During the first six months of the current MY, almost 3.900.000 t of oilseeds were exported from Ukraine, which is 1.300.000 t more than during the same period last year.

Such information was provided by the State Procurement Service.

It is also reported that during this period 2.000.000 t of rapeseed was supplied from Ukraine, which exceeds the same indicator of the previous year by 1.100.000 t. In addition, exports of soybeans amounted to 1.800.000 t, which is 0.1% less than the indicator of the past year.

It should be recalled that in Ukraine in December 2017, 18.400 t of soybean oil was produced, which is 21% higher than in December 2016.

Ukraine continues to increase its oilseed exports this year despite some weather and logistical challenges. According to statistics, during the reporting period, the country supplied 3.9 million tons of oilseeds to foreign markets, which is 10% more than in the previous period.

Sunflower and soybeans remain among the leaders in the export of oilseeds from Ukraine. The greatest demand for these crops is observed from the countries of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The export of oilseeds is of great importance for the Ukrainian economy, as it is one of the key areas in the development of agriculture. The increase in export volumes contributes to the growth of producers’ incomes and the strengthening of the country’s position in the international market.
