Processing of vegetable oils
Filtration is a highly efficient method of cleaning crude oil from physical impurities.
When setting up the filtration production line, the productivity of the press shop is always taken into account. Filtering technology involves use of plate filters. Presses with a capacity below the average are equipped with hand filters, which means that filter cleaning (regeneration) is performed by the operator. For presses with medium and high capacity, Farmet offers filters with automatic regeneration, which means that the whole process is controlled by the automatic system Farmet Intelligence Control, using the function FILTR OPTIMAL.
Refining is a deeper way of cleaning oil from impurities.
In oils obtained by pressing or extraction, as a rule, there are various trace elements that affect the colour of the oil, its odor, etc. As a rule, these impurities are contained in the processed culture, and when it is pressed or extracted, they remain in oil, so that their content in relation to the resulting oil volume increases.
The refining process consists of four main stages:
- Degumming is mainly intended for the removal of phosphorus;
- Bleaching is for removing pigments which make the colour of oil darker;
- Winterizing is used for removal of waxes;
- Deodorization is used to remove odor.
Refining technology can be supplied as a set, or as separate stages, depending on what kind of oil you plan to get as a result.
