In the world, corn is one of the most widespread cultivated plants that are grown for the production of feed, food and other goods. According to the FAO, in 2020, the world production of corn amounted to more than 1.14 billion tons.

The US is the largest corn producing country in the world, accounting for about 35% of world production. In addition, China, Brazil, Argentina and India are major producers of corn.

Among the trends in the development of corn production in the world, it is worth noting the increase in the share of corn used for biofuels and other non-traditional purposes. In addition, in some countries there is a decrease in the area under maize cultivation due to a switch to more profitable crops.

It is important to note that in the world corn is grown on various types of soil, and this allows it to be grown in many countries. However, as with any agricultural sector, corn production faces a number of challenges such as droughts, plant diseases and other factors that can reduce yields.

In general, corn production is an important agricultural industry in the world, and its development will continue in the future. Trends in the development of corn production are associated with an increase in the use of crops in various sectors of the economy and improvement in plant growing technologies.
