Kazakhstan: Harvest of grain crops this year corresponds to the level of the past year

As of July 26, in the south of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 0.699 million tons of grain crops were harvested, which almost corresponds to the amount of grain harvested during the same period last year. As of the indicated date, in 2017, 0.696 million tons were harvested.

It should be noted that 50% of the total amount of crops was harvested in the Zhambyl and Turkestan regions.

According to information received from the Ministry of Agriculture, 0.367 million hectares were harvested in 4 regions of the Republic. The average yield was 1.9 t/ha.

It should be recalled that this year for grain crops was allocated a territory of 14.7 million hectares, of which 11.4 million hectares were for wheat, which is more than half a million hectares less than in the past year.

One of the key success factors is the availability of modern equipment for the grain industry and the use of the latest technologies. In addition, the government of Kazakhstan is implementing agricultural support programs such as subsidies for the purchase of seeds and fertilizers, as well as financial support for small and medium-sized farms.

Favorable conditions for the development of the grain industry in Kazakhstan are also associated with a temperate climate that favors the cultivation of various crops. In addition, due to the vast territories, Kazakhstan has great potential for the development of the agricultural sector and increasing the production of grain crops.
