Kazakhstan: Harvesting process 2017

In some areas of the country, the harvest of cereals has already ended and the yield became greater than in the past year.

Thus, in the Aktyubinsk region, with the same yield results this and last years – 13 centners per hectare, the gross collection of grain increased from 443,000 tons to 505,800 tons. To date, first lots of grain have already gone for export.

In turn, grain farms in the Kostanay region threshed 5,225,000 tons of wheat. The average yield was 12.5 centners per hectare.

In the eastern and northern regions of Kazakhstan, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the process of harvesting is now frozen for a while. Over the past day in the North-Kazakhstan it was threshed only 10 thousand tons of grain.

Also, in the northern and eastern regions of the country, harvesting of spring wheat is now being completed. In the Pavlodar region, the harvesting of buckwheat has begun. In the south and southeast parts of the country, the harvesting of rice and corn is going full speed.

As of October 5, on the 99.4% of the area the harvesting is finished, and as a result, 21,482,300 tons of grain were harvested, which exceeds the predictions of the Ministry of Agriculture. Earlier, the gross grain harvest was estimated at about 20 million tons. It is planned to export approximately 8 million tons of grain.

Kazakhstan is one of the largest grain producers in the world, so the harvesting process is an important milestone for the country. In 2017, the harvesting process in Kazakhstan was accompanied by a number of problems, such as weather conditions, labor shortages and insufficient harvesting equipment.

Despite this, various technologies such as combines, tractors and other equipment have been used to speed up the grain harvesting process. However, in some regions, the harvesting process has been delayed due to a lack of equipment or labor.

The planned volumes of grain harvesting in different regions of Kazakhstan also differ. For example, in some regions, cleaning has already been completed, while in others it is ongoing. This is due to various factors such as climatic conditions, soil types and crops.

Thus, the harvesting process in Kazakhstan has its own characteristics and problems, however, through the use of various technologies and the increase in harvesting volumes in different regions, the country continues to develop in agriculture.
